Looking forward to another week of insightful discussions. Your contributions make this community a valuable resource for all of us.

We went real-time for POS fraud and inventory holds but kept nightly batch for category KPIs; one thing that helped was adding a 2–3 minute debounce in the stream so flaky store Wi‑Fi doesn’t cascade cancels in the OMS. Small caveat: real-time without that buffer made our returns queue spike during promos. @Aisha, what latency budget are you aiming for?

We run a dual-path: a “speed lane” for fraud flags and inventory holds, and a “trust lane” that updates hourly for finance, with an auto fallback if live totals drift >0.5% from the hourly rollups. The concrete step that made it work was a drift monitor comparing store/SKU sums and tripping a circuit breaker so downstream KPIs don’t whipsaw — like having an express checkout and a service desk. @janet_olive62 what variance threshold are you using; we’re debating moving from 0.5% to 1% to reduce false alarms.
